As part of this undertaking, we have developed The Housing App – a housing inspection app and collaborative platform designed by professionals who have helped shape the UK government’s housing guidance around hazards and safety, including the HHSRS. We are committed to helping inspectors, landlords and tenants access a quick, affordable and transparent way to provide safer housing.

Schedule of Works

Through The Housing App web portal, assessments can be completed that create an easy-to-follow schedule of works for landlords, all generated at the touch of a button. These can be sent from the portal, along with simple guides on what to fix and attached photos and guidance for landlords.

Using ethical AI, The Housing App recognises hazards such as damp and mould from photos taken on the app. It then assists with documenting any issues. Image classification quickly identifies elements such as windows, as well as hazards such as damp and mould.

HHSRS scoring

If a hazard is identified during the inspection, the dashboard then categorises all the relevant findings to facilitate scoring. The scoring calculator automatically assigns Category 1 or Category 2 to the hazard, together with the relevant band.

Prioritise cases with tenant reports

Remote assessments

The landlord and tenant upload site enables inspectors to quickly assess properties. By using an online portal to submit information to officers, the decision can then be made as to whether an in-person inspection is required.
